n the reintroduction of oxygenated blood into a tissue that had previously been oxygen-deficient. Concomitant increase of oxygen free radicals may lead to tissue damage. Also called
hypoxia-reoxygenation,
ischemic reperfusion, or
postischemic reoxygenation.
