Etymology: L, inter, between, mittere, to send; Gk, hydor, water, salpinx, tube
a fluid accumulation in a fallopian tube. The fluid is released periodically through the uterine cavity. Also called hydrops tubae profluens.

Edema of the fallopian tube in which the distention is so great that the tube is forced by the pressure to empty itself via the uterus. Synonym: hydrops tubae profluens
