in·ter·cel·lu·lar ad·he·sion mol·e·cule-1 (ICAM-1),

a glycoprotein that is expressed on a variety of cells. The natural ligand for ICAM-1 is LFA-1, but it also serves as the cellular receptor for rhinoviruses in respiratory epithelium.
