intercellular adhesion molecule

,

ICAM

Any of a group of immunoglobulin-like proteins on the surface of cells that help them bind to each other or to the extracellular matrix that surrounds them. These proteins also participate in cell-to-cell signaling, cytokine production, and cellular reproduction.
