inside-out technique

Orthopedics A method in shoulder surgery in which the arthroscope in the posterior access portal localizes the position of the anterior portal and a rod passed though the arthroscopic cannula to exit the anterior shoulder; a cannula is then passed retrograde over the rod and a portal established.
