To this day, we as Lakota people make annual prayer offerings, inipi ceremony (sweat lodge), hanbleciya (vision quest), and hold our sacred dance, wiwanyang wacipi (sun dance), at or near Bear Lodge.
Spiritual rituals recognize the presence of the sacred in sensuous material: bread and wine transubstantiated into the body and blood of Christ; grandfather rocks sacrificing themselves in the purifying fire of a Native American inipi (sweat lodge) ceremony.
These traditional methods include the inipi, or purification ceremony (popularly called the "sweat lodge") (Hall, 1986), the hanbleceya, or pipe fast (often called the "vision quest"), and the wiwang wacipi, or Sun Dance.
This spring Duravit is launching four innovative products namely the Inipi B sauna, Architec urinals, Delos range of bathroom furniture and SensoWashC toilet seat.
Look for future issues of New Life Journal, where we'll share tradition of the Inipi, the Lakota sweat lodge, which Paul shared with our editor Erin Everett.
