exercise-induced hyperinsulinaemic hypoglycaemia(redirected from hyperinsulinaemic hypoglycaemia, exercise induced)
exercise-induced hyperinsulinaemic hypoglycaemiaAn autosomal dominant hypoglycemic disorder (OMIM:245340) characterised by inappropriate insulin secretion during anaerobic exercise or on pyruvate load.
Caused by defects of SLC16A1, which encodes a proton-coupled transporter that catalyses the movement of monocarboxylates (e.g., lactate and pyruvate) and ketone bodies across the plasma membrane.
