hydroxybutyric dehydrogenase

hydroxybutyric dehydrogenase

A serum enzyme whose level is elevated in myocardial infarction. Because other assays of myocardial injury (e.g., CK-MB, troponin I) are more specific and more sensitive, tests to determine the presence of this enzyme in the blood of patients with myocardial infarction are no longer performed.
