SULT1C2(redirected from humSULTC2)
SULT1C2A gene on chromosome 2q12.3 that encodes a sulfotransferase which sulfonates and activates many drugs, xenobiotics, hormones and neurotransmitters; it also may be involved in activating carcinogenic hydroxylamines. SULT1C2 is expressed in the adult stomach, kidneys and thyroid gland, and in foetal kidney and liver. It is also the retired HUGO symbol for what is now designated SULT1C4, see there.
