he·pa·tic a·me·bi·a·sis

infection of the liver with Entamoeba histolytica; may occur with or without antecedent amebic dysentery.

hepatic amebiasis

a disorder characterized by enlargement and tenderness of the liver that is often associated with amebic dysentery. The inflammation results from direct infection with Entamoeba histolytica, ingested in water or food contaminated with human feces. See also amebiasis, amebic dysentery.

hepatic amebiasis

Infection of the liver by E. histolytica, resulting in hepatitis and abscess formation, and usually a sequel to amebic dysentery.
