Former term for copper-containing proteins found in human erythrocytes and tissues. See: superoxide dismutase, ceruloplasmin.

hemocuprein

(1) Superoxide dismutase-1, EC 1.15.1.1
(2) A nonspecific term for any copper-binding protein (e.g.,ceruloplasmin; superoxide dismutase, see there).

hemocuprein

A blue copper-containing compound present in red blood cells.
