To initially qualify for health certification, lawyers must be a member of The Florida Bar for five years, be substantially involved (at least 40 percent of their practice) in
health law, complete 60 hours of advanced CLE of approved health-law credits, pass a rigorous peer-review process, and pass a certification exam.
A mental
health law, by essence, departs from the general
health laws regulating the health system.
