SPI1
(redirected from haematopoietic transcription factor PU.1)SPI1
A gene on chromosome 11p11.2 that encodes a transcription protein that binds to the PU-box, a purine-rich DNA sequence (5'-GAGGAA-3') which can act as a lymphoid-specific enhancer. SPI1 may be involved in the differentiation or activation of macrophages or B-cells; it binds RNA and may modulate pre-mRNA splicing.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc.
