(gas'trik glandz) [TA]
Branched tubular glands lying in the mucosa of the fundus and body of the stomach; such glands contain parietal cells that secrete hydrochloric acid, zymogen cells that produce pepsin, and mucous cells.
Synonym(s): gastric follicle.
