cholecystographyA method for visualising the gallbladder and biliary tract, based on excretion of iodinated radiocontrast via the biliary tree after oral ingestion.
Suspected gallbladder disease (e.g., cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, upper right quadrant colic); the method has fallen into disuse and been all-but replaced by gallbladder ultrasonography.
