Frontal sinuses open into the anterior part of the middle nasal meatus through the frontonasal duct
. Blockage of this duct leads to retaining of secretions in the frontal sinus, which serves as a medium for microorganisms.
The DVD contains videos of ear, nose, and larynx surgeries such as endoscopic sinus surgery, frontonasal duct
reconstruction, and vocal cord augmentation.
Each one opens into the corresponding medium meatus of the nose, through the ethmoidal infundibulum of the frontonasal duct, and crosses the anterior part of the ethmoidal labyrinth.
With bone-wax, the frontonasal ducts were occluded bilaterally.
Do abnormalities of the frontonasal duct
cause frontal sinusitis?
The right frontonasal duct
was enlarged and cannulated with a stent fashioned from a #3 Jackson metal tracheotomy tube (an inner cannula shortened with a metal saw).
