Complete and abrupt upper airway obstruction by a bolus of food, often meat, which occludes the oesophagus and larynx, so named as the sudden onset of symptoms simulates acute myocardial infarction. foreign body airway obstruction
Blockage of the free passage of air from the mouth and nose to the lungs by any object accidentally inhaled into the trachea, bronchus, or pharynx. Common causes of this type of obstruction are red meat, hard candy, hot dogs, coins, and marbles.
