Other features may be local tenderness that may extend to the nose, cheek, teeth, and face, purulent discharge from the puncta, sac may rupture and fistulise
through the skin.
Splenic hydatid cysts may suppurate, fistulise
to adjacent organs or rupture into the peritoneal cavity or may present with massive lower gastrointestinal bleeding.
All our patients presented with only local manifestations that started with painful nodules which gradually increased in size, which then would fistulise
and open on the skin draining pus, while none of them had any systemic manifestations.
