Then, a "cone-like"
fistulectomy with a draining seton is generally recommended in case of symptomatic fistulas or complex disease; the lay open technique is rarely suggested because of the disease's recurrent nature together with the consequent risk of incontinence.
This is a case report of a 16-year-old female patient with an odontogenic cutaneous fistula which was successfully treated with surgical
fistulectomy in the Otolaryngology Department at Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC), Trinidad and Tobago.
There are various operative procedures, such as the advancement flap, sphincteroplasty and
fistulectomy, coloanal anastomosis, and gracilis muscle repair to manage rectovaginal fistulas [11, 12].
The patient underwent surgery with removal of implants, a
fistulectomy of the right femur was performed, biopsies were collected, sonication of the plate was performed, and a knee brace was placed.
Therefore, she underwent surgical closure via
fistulectomy with four-layered closure a few months before her 3rd birthday.
Material and Methods: All patients, both male and female admitted for hemorrhoidectomy,
fistulectomy and lateral internal sphincterotomy for Anal Fissure with minimum 02 months follow-up were included in the study through non probability consecutive sampling technique.
Objective: To compare mean healing time and mean pain scores between
fistulectomy and fistulotomy for the treatment of low fistula in ano.
Objective: To compare fistulotomy with
fistulectomy for wound healing, duration of surgery, post-operative pain, incontinence and recurrence in patients with fistula in ano.
