(fish ber'rē),The seeds of Anamirta paniculata that contain the amaroid, picrotoxin; a CNS and respiratory stimulant, used in veterinary medicine as an antidote to barbiturates. Name derived from the use of bruised berries thrown into streams to poison or incapacitate fish.
