A format of CT used in cardiac imaging, in which a scan requires less than a fraction of a second, allowing the creation of multislice images, which can be repeated at frequent intervals for a specified period; fast CT provides information about cardiac anatomy, pulmonary and coronary arteries, myocardial perfusion, and microcirculation.
