fascial sarcoma

fascial sarcoma

A nonspecific term for a sarcoma that arises (or is alleged to arise) in a fascia. This term preceded by decades those techniques (e.g., immunoperoxidase) that could confirm cell lineage; it is likely that many lesions so designated were actually spindle cell carcinomas.
