Euglena

a genus of large, green flagellates (division Euglenophyta) that is common in both fresh and salt waters. Euglenoids produce a polysaccharide storage molecule called PARAMYLUM and, (unlike other flagellates), do not possess a cell wall, but produce a flexible PELLICLE instead.
