[vul-vi´tis]inflammation of the vulva.
erosive vulvitis vulvitis due to a mixed microbial infection in which gangrenous ulcerations similar to the lesions seen in noma of the oral tissues affect the labia majora pudendi.
plasma cell vulvitis (vulvitis plasmocellula´ris) the counterpart of balanitis circumscripta plasmocellularis in women, in which the vulva has a lacquerlike appearance; erosions, punctate hemorrhage, synechiae, and a slate- to ochre-colored pigmentation may supervene.
