diesel oil

a common fuel on farms. Grazing ruminants are most likely to be poisoned by diesel fuel, especially cattle who find petroleum products palatable. Obvious clinical signs are anorexia, mild bloat, vomiting and aspiration pneumonia. The feces are oily and have a characteristic smell.
