diarrheal shellfish poisoning
Abbreviation: DSPPoisoning caused by eating shellfish that have ingested okadaic acid and other toxins produced by marine algae (dinoflagellates), resulting in nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, and diarrhea. The disease resolves spontaneously from within hours to a few days.
