(dĕr″măt-ō-pŏ-rō′sĭs) [ dermato- + (osteo)porosis]Loss of the structural integrity of the skin that occurs with aging. Affected skin is more easily lacerated and ulcerated and bleeds more readily and heals more slowly than healthier, younger skin.
