CUL2

A gene on chromosome 10p11.21 that encodes cullin-2, a core protein of multiple cullin-RING-based ECS (elonginB/C-CUL2/5-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes, which mediate the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Cullin-2 may contribute to catalysis through positioning of the substrate and the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme. The ubiquitin-protein ligase activity of the complex depends on neddylation of the cullin subunit, and is inhibited by the association of the deneddylated cullin subunit with TIP120A/CAND1.

Based on target prediction programs (miRTarBase, TargetScan, miRanda, and MiRBase) and published papers, we found highly evidenced candidate target genes (hypoxia-inducible factor 1A and Cullin 2 genes for hypoxia and angiogenesis; cyclin-dependent kinase 6 (CDK6), Cyclin D1 (CCND1), Cyclin E1 (CCNE1), and CCND3 genes for cell cycle) of hsa-miR-424-5p.

In the Under-14 Conference, Joseph Johnson scored an incredible eight for Mount Athletic (Abdi Yousef 3, Sean Annerley 2, Jake Roper) who went goal crazy against Woolton Warriors Blue, and Warner Portcullis (Danny Cullin 2, Chris Parle 2, Liam Parkinson, Tom Smith) beat Warner.
