Creatine kinase reaction.

creatine phosphate (CrP)

provides muscle with a reservoir of 'high-energy' phosphate for the rapid rephosphorylation of ADP to ATP during high-intensity exercise. Other functions of CrP are the buffering of hydrogen ions produced during anaerobic glycolysis, and the transport of ATP, generated by aerobic metabolism, from mitochondria to cytoplasm where it can be utilized in contraction and other cellular processes. Also known as phosphocreatine (PCr).
