connective tissue massage Massage therapy
A form of massage that specifically manipulates the connective tissues (e.g., fascia, ligaments and tendons of the musculoskeletal system), with the aim of enhancing circulation and, by extension, healing. The technique consists of dragging motions with hooked fingers, which are believed to stimulate the trigger zones that refer pain to elsewhere in the body.
