cyanosis present at birth caused by a congenital heart disease or atelectasis of the lungs. See also blue baby.
Cyanosis usually associated with a birth defect, such as stenosis of the pulmonary artery orifice, ventricular septal defect, or a patent foramen ovale or ductus arteriosus.See: tetralogy of Fallot.
