Until recent times, the single-stage operations like coloproctectomy, subtotal colectomy were treated as unsafe for patients due to significant shifts in homeostasis caused.
Ileus was a cause of death of 1 patient with diffuse polyposis, who had undergone radical operation (abdominoanal proctectomy, subtotal coloproctectomy, single barrelled ascendostomy).
In the second group there was carried out abdominoanal resection with total coloproctectomy of 986 (37.5%) patients.
The results of this study show that coloproctectomy allows making a choice of a way and volume of surgical treatment of the patients with non-specific ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
In the beginning of study we carried out total coloproctectomy with formation of the reservoir in a manual way in 103 patients.
