An awards scheme that in 2004 replaced the local discretionary points scheme and national distinction awards scheme. Clinical excellence awards recognise and reward the exceptional contribution of NHS consultants (including honorary NHS consultants) to the values and goals of the NHS and to patient care.

Sharon Scott-Reed is one of eleven nurses honored this year by Cook County Health (CCH) with their annual Professional Registered Nurses Clinical Excellence Award. Sharon Scott-Reed of Bolingbrook was honored for her work within the emergency department category.
