A disaccharide composed of one molecule of d-glucuronic acid and one of d-galactosamine (chondrosamine); a component of the chondroitins.
chondrosinA term described by PA Levene, at the Rockefeller Institute in 1941, as a nitrogenous aldobionic acid and carbohydrate moiety of chondroitinsulfuric acid; it is no longer used in the working medical parlance.
Obsolete term for material produced when chondroitin sulfate is hydrolyzed.
