chondrolipoma

An uncommon neoplasm characterised as a lipoma with cartilaginous metaplasia which arises in the connective tissue of almost any site, especially in the skeleton, breast and pharnynx.

Molecular pathology
Abnormal expression of transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta), latent TGF-ß-binding protein-1 and bone morphogenetic protein.
