CAB

Cellulose acetate butyrate is a transparent thermoplastic material that is used in the manufacture of gas permeable contact lenses as it transmits some oxygen. It is a copolymer with varying percentages of cellulose, butyryl and acetyl. CAB lenses vary in their characteristics depending on the percentages of the three components. It is also used to make spectacle frames.
