careers fair

careers fair

A meet-and-greet event for students and trainees in the UK and elsewhere who are at a crossroads in their careers or at the beginning of a significant point in their professional development. Careers fairs for junior doctors in the UK can be local, regional or national, and often have a series of seminars and lectures on topics ranging from how to polish up interview skills and write a CV to unconventional uses of one’s medical degree (e.g., medical journalism and medicolegal practice). Representatives from Royal Colleges and local NHS deaneries may be available to share the latest information on postgraduate training. Career fairs provide an opportunity to gain careers advice and to meet others who are similarly situated.
