CA8(redirected from carbonate dehydratase VIII)
CA8A gene on chromosome 8q11-q12 that encodes a protein which lacks carbonic anhydrase activity—i.e., it does not catalyse the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Its role is unclear, but it appears to play a part in cerebellar development.
