TRPV5

A gene on chromosome 7q35 that encodes a calcium-selective cation channel which has 6 transmembrane-spanning domains, forms homo- or heterotetramers and is activated by a low internal calcium levels. The TRPV5 channel is activated by a low internal calcium levels, and is involved in Ca2+ absorption and reabsorption in the kidney and intestine.
