(1) An obsolete term for B cell—B lymphocyte—named in reference to the bursa of Fabricius, the lymphoid organ located at the posterodorsal wall of the fowl cloaca, which gives rise to B lymphocytes.
(2) A term in current use for cells in chick embryos arising in the bursa of Fabricius.
