A manoeuvre used in drowning and near-drowning victims to clear the pharynx of water and vomitus; the victim is turned prone, the hands of the person rendering CPR are locked together under abdomen, and the victim’s fluid-filled body is lifted to expel water and gas.
A technique that may be used by mortuary technicians and others to disrupt rigour, which may be so traumatic to the involved muscle that it may be torn from its insertion in bone. If the breaking occurs before rigour has completely set in, rigour will develop in the new position.
