BST2(redirected from bone marrow stromal cell antigen 2)
BST2A gene on chromosome 19p13.1 that encodes bone marrow stromal cell antigen-2, the function of which is currently unknown, but which may play a role in pre-B-cell growth, in sorting secreted proteins and in retroviral defense, blocking the release of enveloped virus from the cell surface. It is active against retroviruses, filoviruses, arenaviruses and herpesviruses.
