blast wave

(blast wāv)

The reason is that normal or nearly normal reflection occurs at the bottom panel, which can increase the wave pressure, but the incident direction of blast waves to the side slope panel is declined, and in-surface movement of blast waves occurs.
Nevertheless, venting surfaces cannot reduce the peak pressure associated with the first arrival of the blast wave.
Blast dampers are devices with mechanical elements that close within milliseconds of the blast wave arrival.
The most effective protection would eliminate interaction between blast waves and brain with mechanical protective equipment, such as helmets and body shields.
Smith and Rose [19] reported, "regions of high and low loading do not necessarily occur where they might intuitively be expected; 'hot spots' occur where a building surface might be expected to be shielded and relatively low loads are evident where a direct line from charge to 'target' might be expected to produce a higher load." The author found that Feng followed by Whalen was among the earliest investigators who found enhanced blast wave parameters in simple straight and model city streets configurations, respectively.
In addition to BBB damage that occurs from the primary blast wave, hypoxic conditions are present when lung injury has occurred which contributes to BBB disruption [50].
To prevent malfunction of such fire dampers due to seizing of the blade plate affected by blast wave additional bearings can be used, installed in LIM inductors active zone [11] but it helps only when the blade itself is not deformed too much, and this condition may be met when damper is completely shut before pressure jump.
Huge explosions hit an industrial area in the northeast Chinese port city of Tianjin late on Wednesday, triggering a blast wave felt kilometres (miles) away and injuring scores of people, Chinese media reported.
Attracting in city centers and close to constructions in important centers is a kind of sabotage operations used by terrorist groups all over the world so that blast wave caused by bombing results in the damage and undesirable function of the building and its facilities and impedes the function of that center (Rajaee khah 2011).
For instance, the changes in the amount of the X-ray luminosity and temperature during the last decade suggest that GK Persei blast wave is currently expanding into a region of much lower density.
In addition, the understanding of the extent of visual dysfunction and damage to ocular structures by the blast wave has been hampered by the lack of a population exposed solely to primary blast.
Explosions create a blast wave, whether from an improvised explosive device (IED) or from firing high-powered ammunition.
