bladder ears

bladder ears

A popular term for the transient, bilateral extraperitoneal herniation of the bladder, as seen by cystography or intravenous urography, which occur in up to 10% of infants, often < 6 months of age. Bladder ears are of clinical interest, as 20% of these children have associated inguinal hernias.
