bioenrichment (1) The addition of nutrients or O2 to sewage to increase bacterial breakdown of pollutants.
(2) The addition of nutrients and trace minerals to inland regions and bodies of water by migrating seabirds, resulting in increased primary production, high organic carbon concentrations, and elevated pH.
