basal cell carcinoma, pigmented typeA morphologic variant of basal cell carcinoma that is histologically similar to nodular BCC, which also contains functional melanocytes in the tumour cell nests, and melanophages in the stroma. Pigmented BCC is most common type of BCC in people of African American or Hispanic descent.
