A popular descriptive term for a small horizontal cortical fracture that results from bowing of softened bones involved by Paget disease, which are typically seen on the convex lateral edge of a bowed femur, or anteriorly along an anteriorly bowed tibia. This finding contrasts to Looser zones of osteomalacia, which are seen on the concave edge.
A descriptive term for a “fracture” of penile erectile tissue, which occurs when the erect penis sustains an injury to the tunica albuginea due to deliberate or accidental bending or folding, resulting in membrane tears (indicated by a popping sound), often excruciating pain and extravasation of blood from the corpora cavernosa into surrounding tissues, causing oedema and bruising.
