back estimation

A formulaic estimation of a person’s likely blood alcohol concentration at an earlier time X, which may be of interest in a medicolegal context (e.g., drink/drunk driving).
Back estimation formula
Alcohol consumed (g) = (BAC X Widmark factor X Wt) / 100
BAC = Blood alcohol concentration
Wt = Body weight in kg

Kerry Maylin, prosecuting, said Casey gave a breath test at the scene of 38mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit is 35mcg, but a back calculation meant he would have been at 46mcg at the time of the crash.

But experts in "back calculation" believe he may have had more than twice the legal limit in his blood.
Back calculation was used to estimate body size at settlement for each fish using the equation calculated by ordinary least square linear regression of body size (mm SL) on otolith radius, of the form L = mx + b; where L represents the body length, m represents the slope, x represents the otolith radius at settlement, and b represents the y-intercept.
The killer driver was not breathalysed at the scene because he was injured and a later test and "back calculation" showed he was just within the legal drink drive limit.
Since scales have been found very convenient and authentic in use for age and growth (Khan & Khan, 2009), the following formula given by Bagenal & Tesch (1978) have been used for back calculation based on the scale readings as:
This is known as a back calculation. Any other evidence that you are able to provide to prove you consumed alcohol after you had driven the car would also be helpful in your case.

Abstract: Pavement structural evaluation using pavement modulus values resulting from back calculation process on non-destructive deflection data has been adopted to quantify objectively the conditions of existing pavements under various traffic loading and environmental conditions.
