autoechopraxia

autoechopraxia

A near-extinct term for the repetition of a stereotyped movement that a person him- or herself performs; this contrasts with echopraxia, the repetition of someone else’s actions. This difference has blurred and the terms may be used interchangeably, with the latter being preferred.
