APOA2

APOA2

A gene on chromosome 1q21-q23 that encodes apolipoprotein A2, a protein component of high-density lipoprotein (HDL), which is present in plasma as a monomer, homodimer or heterodimer with apolipoprotein D.

Molecular pathology
APOA2 mutations cause apolipoprotein A2 deficiency or hypercholesterolaemia.

Lipids and lipoproteins metabolism in humans may be controlled by genes, including the lipoprotein lipase, apo AI, apo E, apo B, apo C, apoAII, and lecithin: cholesterol acyltransferase genes, because of their central position in the lipids metabolism regulationt (19,20).
They include apoAI, apoAII, apoAIV, apoAV, apoCI, apoCII, apoCIII and apoE as well as several lesser-known apoproteins.
The annealing temperature was lowered to 58 [degrees]C for ApoD and ApoAII genes and 55 [degrees]C for UCP3, UCP2, IRS-1, Ob-Rb, HSL, RxR, and LPL.
Micronized fenofibrate is a fibric acid derivative that reduces serum TC, LDL-C, TG, and VLDL-cholesterol and increases the concentrations of HDL-C, apoAI, and apoAII (22).

In addition to apoE, the CSF also contains apoAI, apoAII, apoAVI, apoD, and apoJ (8-10) but not apoB (the only apolipoprotein included in the LDL fraction, and the major lipoprotein in plasma involved in cholesterol transport).
Unlike apoE, the apoAII in the CSF appears to be derived from the plasma (4).
Purified apos (apoAI, apoAII, apoB, apoCII, apoCIII, and apoE), anti-apoE polyclonal antibody (rabbit), anti-apoE monoclonal antibody, and horseradish peroxidase-conjugated anti-mouse IgG (goat) were purchased from Chemicon International Inc.
The absorbance values measured for apoAI, apoAII, and apoB at a maximum concentration of 500 mg/L, and for apoCII and apoCIII at a maximum concentration of 100 mg/L in place of apoE were roughly similar to that obtained for the zero calibrator (data not shown).
